RECIPIENTS
KELLIE DESROCHERS Learning hand-to-hand combat moves from her grandfather at the aqe of 10 and listening to him tell stories of his times in the Marines, Kellie gained a profound respect for those that are in the military. She learned of committment, strength and devotion through her mother's example, and with her encouragement Kellie has been able to accomplish great things. Kellie graduated 7th in her class, participated in the school play, was a member of the varsity soccer and track teams, and was inducted into the National Honor Society in her Junior year. She worked just as hard outside of BR, holding down three part time jobs and volunteering as a group leader for Children's Bible School at her local church. We are honored to give this year's award to someone described as sincere and kind with an infectious sense of humor. Kellie is heading to Harvard in the Fall with aspirations of Law School and eventually a seat in the Senate. We wish her all the best! Good Luck Kellie! |

KRISTIN MEASOR A volunteer at heart, Kristin is the perfect fit for this award in honor of our friend Jared. Her essay spoke of not only her involvement in school activities such as the Drama Club, Art Club, and Year Book Committee; but also of her time spent giving back to her community. Kristin taught Sunday School, headed a volunteer effort to provide supplies to a local animal shelter, and worked closely with her family who led the "Rally for the Troops" event held in her hometown of Raynham. This event honored the men and women fighting for our freedom overseas and the families that miss and support them. Kristin comes from a military background, with several relatives having served in the United States Military. Kristin is studying to become a teacher but more importantly, her hope is to be the kind of teacher a child can look up to. We are proud to name Kristin as this year's recipient and wish her great success! |
